New year, new booth: refreshing your setup for the next season

There's a specific moment a lot of vendors hit: you've been doing shows for a year or two with the same folding table and a couple of tabletop easels, and it's started to feel like your display is holding your work back rather than showing it off. If that sounds familiar, the new year is a good, low-pressure time to actually deal with it, before your first spring show, while you can think it through instead of scrambling.

Figure out what's actually wrong first

"I need a new booth" is vague. Get specific about what's not working. Is it that you're out of surface area for how much product you carry now? Is it that everything sits flat and disappears next to booths with taller displays? Is it just that it's tired-looking after a couple of seasons of wear? Each of these points to a different fix, and it's worth naming the actual problem before buying anything.

Vertical space is usually the biggest single upgrade

If your current setup is mostly flat on the table, going vertical is often the single change that makes the most visible difference. Standing displays are visible from further down the aisle, which means more people actually see your work before deciding to stop, instead of only the people already walking directly past your table. Think about how your booth will need to grow, not just where it is now
