The Overlooked Mistake Of Ignoring Your Neighbour's Booth

You planned your display in isolation. At home, in your living room, with nothing on either side. Then you set up at the show and discovered your neighbour has an identical colour scheme, a taller display, and a competing product line. Your booth just became background noise.

Here is why your neighbours matter and what to do about it.

1. Colour Competition Is Real

If your neighbour has a bright red display and you have a bright red tablecloth, your eye cannot tell where one booth ends and the other begins. Bring a backup tablecloth in a neutral colour. Or better yet, use a modular display kit with panels that create a clear visual boundary no matter what your neighbour does.

2. Height Comparison Is Instant

If their display is taller, yours looks shorter by contrast. You cannot control their height, but you CAN make sure yours hits the minimum effective height of 150cm. Our kits build to 175cm. That is competitive with nearly any setup in a vendor row.

3. Light Spill Matters

A neighbour with bright LED strips can wash out your display or cast harsh shadows across your products. Bring your own clip-on light so you are not dependent on overhead fluorescents or ambient spill from adjacent setups.

4. Aisle Flow Affects You

If your neighbour draws a crowd, the overflow often stops in front of YOUR table. That can be great or terrible depending on whether your display catches their eye while they wait. Make sure your hero product is visible from any angle, including the side.

5. Shared Wall Etiquette

If your setups share a back boundary, do not let your display lean against their side. Keep your footprint tight. Respect the dividing line. Vendors who encroach make enemies fast, and those enemies are right next to you for the ENTIRE show.
