Why "More Space" Is Almost Never The Real Answer
It is the most common advice in every vendor Facebook group: "Just get a bigger table." Or "upgrade to a double booth." And look, sometimes that IS the right call. But most of the time it is expensive advice that does not fix the actual problem.
The actual problem is almost always vertical space, not horizontal space. A 6ft table gives you about 1.1 square metres of surface area. That is plenty for most product lines. What it does NOT give you is height. And height is where visibility, shelving, and customer engagement all live.
The Cost Of Going Bigger
A double booth at a convention costs double. Obviously. But it also means twice the setup time, twice the teardown, and you need to fill twice the space with product and display materials. We have seen vendors upgrade to a double and end up with a booth that looks half empty because they did not have enough stock or display infrastructure to fill it properly.
Compare that to building upward on your existing table with a modular display kit. A Core kit (24 panels) gives you 175cm of vertical display space. You have just tripled your usable display area without paying a cent more in booth fees.
When Bigger Actually Makes Sense
There ARE situations where a bigger table or double booth is the right move. If you have large products (paintings, furniture, clothing racks) that genuinely need floor space, go bigger. If you want a customer interaction area inside your booth for fittings or demos, you need room for that.
But if you are selling prints, jewellery, ceramics, stickers, candles, or any small to medium goods, a single table with a proper vertical display outperforms a double booth with a flat layout almost every time.
The Smart Upgrade Path
Start with one table and a vertical display. Master your layout. Learn which products sell from which positions. Then if you genuinely run out of room, grab a Shapeshift Base (46 panels) or full Shapeshift (70 panels) from the full kit range for more side coverage before you spend hundreds more on a bigger booth.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if the event only offers one table size?
Most events use standard 6ft (180cm) tables. Our kits are designed to fit that exact width. You are sorted.
Can I use a vertical display AND a bigger table together?
Absolutely. If you do upgrade your booth space later, the modular system scales with you. Add more panels, build wider configurations, or create L-shaped layouts. Everything is cross-compatible.
