What's Actually Different Between the Duo and Angled Kits

Duo and Angled get lumped together a lot because they're both steps up from the original Shapeshift kit, but they're built for genuinely different setups. Here's what actually separates them, beyond just "one's bigger."

It's not just panel count

Yes, Angled has 46 panels and Duo has 92. But the panel-count gap undersells the real difference, which is what each kit is designed to become. Angled turns a full table into a display with a roof line. Duo is built to become a full booth. That's a difference in kind, not just size.

Shape and build height are the real tell

Angled is about shape as much as height. Its any-angle panels swing both ways, set at any angle and are made to fit the triangles, so the top of your wall can be an awning, a slanted roof or an arch instead of a flat edge. Duo runs 105-350cm/41-138in, with headroom to spare for double-height sections, back walls, or corner builds that need to hold their shape across a much bigger footprint. Most conventions cap booth height anyway (typically about 175cm, always check your event's specific rules), so if you never plan to build past head height, that extra range in Duo isn't doing anything for you.

Panel breakdown, piece by piece

Notice the recipe is the same in both, Duo simply has double of every shape. The one swap is the hinge squares: in Angled those four pieces are any-angle panels, the missing piece that lets you build awnings, roofs and arches, not only right angles. That's the stuff that lets you build more complex shapes rather than just a bigger flat wall. If your mental image of Duo is "Angled but wider," that's not quite it, it's twice the wall in two colours, while Angled is the kit that changes what shapes the wall can make.

Table size is the practical filter

Angled is sized for a full 180cm/6ft table. Duo is sized for a 360cm/12ft double table, corner setups, or full convention booths. If you've only ever worked a single 6ft table and have no plans to upgrade your booth situation, Duo is more kit than you need, and that's fine to admit, more panels sitting unused isn't a flex. But if you're moving up to a corner booth or a double-wide space, trying to stretch a 46-panel kit across that footprint will leave visible gaps in your wall that a smaller kit just can't cover.

What each kit adds

Duo doubles the panel count, comes with 295 accessories and two carry boxes, and brings the 8 primary by 8 secondary colour matrix for two-tone builds. Angled comes with 161 accessories and drop-proof connectors. So with Duo you're getting scale and a second colour, and with Angled you're getting the ability to build shapes a square and hinge panel mix can't make.

Which one is actually right for you

• Full 6ft table, want height, depth and a roof line when you need it: Angled.
• Double table, corner booth, or planning to build a genuine full booth in two colours: Duo.
• Not sure yet because your booth situation might grow: Angled is the safer starting point, since a lot of artists upgrade later rather than downsize, and the Shapeshift Angled Duo Display Kit is there if you end up wanting both.

Both kits ship with a rubber mallet and a protective carry box (two boxes with Duo), and both use the same frosted, light-diffusing polypropylene panels that pack flat with no tools needed. The decision really comes down to how much table you're filling right now, not which one sounds more impressive.
